About this deal

A highly effective LBL setting. The image is significantly warmer than default with a significant decrease in blue light output. The green tint is quite noticeable as the green channel is not lowered so remains relatively strong. Poor sRGB emulation mode, some viewing angle related weaknesses in colour consistency and DCI-P3 coverage is good but not complete (~90%) But for most media, the tradeoff of throwing local dimming and HDR 1000 in the mix is worth it. HDR videos and movies looked incredible, especially those shot in the cinematic 2.37:1 aspect ratio, which fits the 21:9 aspect of the Predator perfectly.

Ninjawithagun said:Acer actually did finally respond and stated that a firmware fix is coming soon: As someone who enjoys playing games, you probably know the importance of a high-quality monitor. It plays an important part when it comes to presenting you with the best resolution and an immersive gaming experience. Snake Plants, also known as Mother-in-Law’s Tongue and Sansevieria, are hearty plants suitable for people with little experience. Though they grow best in bright, indirect light, they can also grow in low light, making them a great choice for a gaming setup with plants. They also don’t require a lot of water: when caring for a Snake Plant, it’s actually best to err on the side of watering too infrequently than watering too much. One glaring issue with the X35 is the active cooling fan. This has been a feature of all G-Sync Ultimate HDR monitors so far, to varying degrees of success. While the fan isn't very noticeable in the Asus PG35VQ, for some reason Acer has decided that pulsing the fan between a slow and fast speed is the best course of action. This means that from time to time, the fan will suddenly engage; in a quiet room, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner has just been turned on.Enjoy two powerful 4-watt speakers, enhanced with the fully optimized, sound-boosting Acer TrueHarmony™ tech. Minimize misfires with aim-points. You have three options to choose from through your OSD or GameView settings. A decent 200Hz performance overall, with rapid pixel responses and low input lag. Fewer pixel response time weaknesses than typical for the panel type, whilst G-SYNC worked as intended to help prevent frame rate and refresh rate mismatches The interpolation process at 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) is very effective and provides significantly less softening than using GPU scaling or indeed the interpolation process on many monitors. There is a degree of definition lost around the edges of objects in particular (a bit like free anti-aliasing, of sorts). But a good degree of detail is maintained overall and an effective sharpening filter is used. Whilst things don’t quite look like a native 27” Full HD display, the monitor certainly makes the resolution usable. You can also set a custom resolution of 2560 x 1080 (up to 100Hz via HDMI, 200Hz via DP) if you wish to use the entire screen space whilst maintaining the 21:9 aspect ratio. The monitor will run at 3440 x 1440 and the GPU will handle the scaling there. There’s therefore a greater degree of softening compared to the monitor’s own interpolation at 1920 x 1080. But it’s usable in a pinch. There’s a good reason for that size: the X35 is also the first monitor I’ve ever used that comes fully assembled. It’s literally as simple as taking it out of the box and plugging it in, assuming you’re planning on using the included stand — which you should, because it’s excellent. Gain an edge over the competition and fine-tune your visuals with greater details in dimly lit environments.Either of these methods will ensure your AMD GPU drivers are updated, helping to maintain optimal performance and compatibility with the latest software and games.

In addition to the aesthetic pleasure of plants on display, plants also promote sustainability by acting as living, breathing air purifiers. Plus, contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to be a pro gardener to raise plants in your gaming room. In fact, there are plenty of types of plants out there that require little maintenance. On an ideal monitor, HDR (High Dynamic Range) describes the ability to distinctly display very deep dark shades whilst simultaneously displaying very bright light shades. Plus an excellent array of shades between those extremes – including some highly saturated shades and much more muted shades. The monitor would ideally have individual illumination of each pixel or failing that a very large number of dimming zones. The use of a large number of dimming zones is referred to as FALD (Full Array Local Dimming) capability. With a great number of dimming zones, illumination can be controlled with excellent precision. Allowing some areas of the image to be very dim, with deep dark shades. Whilst other areas remain exceptionally bright, with strong luminance output and brilliant light shades. In addition to these strong contrast credentials, being able to display a huge range of colours is ideal. The ultimate goal with this in mind is coverage of a massive colour gamut known as Rec. 2020. A more achievable near-term aim is for a monitor to offer 90% DCI-P3 (a Digital Cinema Initiatives standard colour space). Finally, HDR makes use of 10-bit+ precision per channel, so it’s desirable for the monitor to support (at least) 10-bits per subpixel. We did our best to do justice to the Acer Predator X35 by discussing its highlighted features, as well as advantages and disadvantages that you may be subjected to. At the end of the day, it all comes down to how flexible your budget is, as well as whether such high performance is something you need. Ever dive into a high-res game only to find the graphics glitching? The culprit might be outdated graphics drivers, which draw every pixel on your screen. They shape the visuals in gaming, streaming, or browsing. Want a performance boost? Updating your drivers on your Acer device is the first step. The Predator X35 is a wide gamut monitor, touting 90% DCI-P3 coverage. Out of the box, we actually get sub-2.0 deltaE averages when measuring against D65-P3, simply because the monitor is left unclamped. However I wasn't able to improve performance through OSD tweaks, unlike with sRGB performance. Again, to get things up to standard you'll need to perform a full calibration which works well. The color menu includes five gamma presets and sRGB color gamut options for SDR content and component signal formats. We suggest turning SDR Colors sRGB on for the most accurate image with SDR content.
