About this deal

A comprehensive guide from a team of experts giving women of all ages the knowledge to understand our bodies throughout our lives to make us fitter, healthier, happier.

The book is very anti-anything to control your periods and after a whole chapter trying to dissuade you from using any medicine says "do what's best for you" when the author is clearly very against that. Not really a positive message for young girl or anyone to be reading PDF / EPUB File Name: The_Female_Body_Bible_-_Emma_Ross.pdf, The_Female_Body_Bible_-_Emma_Ross.epub Wish to change the language used to talk to adolescent girls about their bodies and give them the confidence to advocate for themselves can achieve a 4% increase in performance by wearing a well-fitted sports bra - when running a marathon this means finishing by a mile earlier. confidently communicate with health and fitness practitioners, friends, partners or colleagues about health issues you may be facing

The Female Body Bible

It also goes on and on about all the good stuff periods do without adequately discussing how painful they are e.g. equal to being shot or conditions like endometriosis. It's kind of like a poster book saying "get periods they're great!" without any of the actual pains or serious side effects given adequate weight. Considering we don't see any of the stuff our body is doing I would've preferred a heftier mention of the struggles of them instead of skipping over them. I was blown away by the learnings I took from the SmartHER workshop, hearing from the incredible experts in the field of female health and sport was amazing and it's so exciting that there is such potential still to be discovered by increasing our knowledge of the impact of female health on not only sporting performance but in our everyday lives! The landscape is certainly changing and with Dr Emma Ross and the team driving it the future looks incredible bright for females in every sport and at every level. Emma Wiggs, MBE, Paralympic gold medallist The differences that originally stopped women from taking part in exercise and competition have been overlooked and ignored completely. Baz, Bella and Emma are my go-to experts and with The Female Body Bible, they can be yours too. Judy Murray, tennis coach

Desire to equip yourself with the knowledge to manage injuries that women are more prone to than men The main message I got from this book is being a woman isn't enough and I'm doing everything wrong. It wasn't a positive book and instead gives women a list as long as their arm about everything they should change in their life as if being a woman isn't hard enough! It wasn't an easy "here are some ways to improve your health" like I thought it would be and felt way more like a toxic lecture. Video: How to talk about the taboos female athletes face in Sport. (Internal: what do athletes think Q&A)Although it’s beneficial for professional and semi-professional athletes, I personally appreciated how Baz, Emma and Bella identified with the struggles everyday active women face. It’s a completely non-prescriptive book about health and fitness. The focus is all about what will work in your life, enabling you to keep doing sport and exercise you enjoy. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who wants to read this as I would highly recommend the whole thing without skipping anything! can harness their hormones to improve menstrual cycle symptoms, work productivity and exercise habits.

The Eve Appeal is a gynaecological cancer charity and we have worked with Bella for over 4 years. She's a trusted and serious voice - but equally effectively engages with a group of teenagers on menstrual wellbeing or group of 50+ on the impacts of the menopause and how to manage it. Athena Lamnisos, CEO, The Eve AppealThe book has lots of easy to digest information and advice women can take away and add to their own fitness regime. Instead of our menstrual cycle being an inconvenience and someone taboo we shouldn’t talk about, the book highlights the menstrual cycle’s superpower. I didn’t know my body will gain more strength and muscle if I just focus my strength workouts at a specific time in my cycle before I read this book. This book is wonderfully empowering, it has given me huge insight into how my body works and how I can help myself be stronger, fitter and healthier. My only wish is I could have had it as a teenager when I very sadly gave up competitive swimming because I didn't like the way it made me look, and had no clue how immensely important it was to me both physically and mentally. I can't wait to give it to my daughters, so they don't make the same mistake. Louise Minchin, journalist and author of Dare to Tri As someone who suffers with endometriosis, I'm more aware of my cycle than most, but this book goes so much further than that. Emma, Baz and Bella make it so easy to use this information in real life. Whether you read cover to cover, dip into chapter headings or keep as your reference guide it will change your coaching of girl and women athletes. There were things I have learnt from this book that I wish I knew from an early life. (Covers things like puberty, menstruation).

Each chapter is carefully set out to guide you, supported by the authors sharing lived experiences from themselves and their clients. Every female athlete, every coach of female athletes, and everybody in between needs to get involved with the amazing team at The WellHQ.
