You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. the characters where adorable together and there's something about a hockey romance that's just inherently comforting. Authors, if you are a member of the Goodreads Author Program, you can edit information about your own books. Over time they learn much more about each other until they each finally reveal that they remembered each other and had crushes. For instance, Jamie’s near-constant use of Pippa’s “songbird” and “pretty assistant” nicknames gave me such an intense physical ick I almost chucked my Kindle into the sea.

The miscommunication, or lack of communication, is a little bit frustrating as it's dragged out for a couple hundred pages, BUT that means there's a lot of a slow-burn romance and angst. Between wearing his jersey at games, rowdy parties with the team, and being brave on stage again, I’m falling for him. The Goodreads Libra Goodreads Librarians are volunteers who help ensure the accuracy of information about books and authors in the Goodreads' catalog. Go add this to your tbr, read it immediately and fall in love with this new world Stephanie has written!Jamie’s issues with his mum felt so real and I appreciated the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book. I am so happy that Pippa got the happy ending she deserved and that was her true revenge against him. The dual narration of the chapters is PERFECT for this book, and the voice actors (artists- sorry I’ve never received an audiobook before) were spot on. I loved hockey romances and I loved the chance to read a hockey romance by one of my favourite authors!

While the relationship might be ‘fake’ on paper, it never is for Rory, who’s pined after Hazel ever since she tutored him back in high school. ngl it got kinda slow towards the end, but there's no third act break up so i guess that makes up for it. I’ve really enjoyed Stephanie Archer’s books in the past, and overall I liked this one, though it wasn’t always easy. Jamie is a professional hockey player who recently relocated back home from New York in a bid to be closer to his mom to support her.I was pleasantly surprised to find there was no third-act breakup, but that's probably because it took all that time to get together so by the time they were together there were only 50 pages of the book left. Pippa has spent her years since finishing school touring with her high school sweetheart Zach and his band, but after she is dumped at the airport and given a plane ticket home, she finds herself broke and lonely, forced to crash with her sister. however, it did feel like *something* was missing - some level of angst or drama that was constantly propelling the story forward.
